ARnow

UX/UI – Branding – Web Design

The Goal

The goal was to design a mid term website for the SaaS startup ARnow, an augmented reality app in its testing phase. The site needed to showcase the app’s core features and guide users through the functionalities, while keeping the design minimalistic and user-friendly.

The Challenge

Since the owners didn’t yet have the resources to hire a programmer, they had to implement the designs themselves with limited coding experience. The final designs had to be easy to implement, ensuring they could handle the development on their own.

Deliverables

  • Website (desktop & mobile)

  • Logo Design

  • Wireframes and prototypes

  • Styleguide

My Role

As the main designer, I was responsible for:

  • Creating a clean, user-friendly UX/UI

  • Designing a logo

  • Creating wireframes and prototypes

  • Defining a consistent branding

The Approach

User Flow

Logo Design & Branding

The app and website didn’t have a logo yet, so I was tasked with creating one.

We chose an owl because of its ability to turn its head, which reflects the app’s core feature—interacting with 3D models by rotating them. This symbolizes the flexibility and interactivity of the scanning process, where users view models from all angles.

First Iteration of Wireframes

I developed a basic desktop wireframe with a simple user flow:

  • Learning about the app’s features

  • Testing QR code functionality

  • Exploring subscription options

Understanding the User Needs

The websites main focus was to engage potential testers while showcasing the apps AR features. I focused on creating a simple, intuitive modules that would allow users to quickly grasp the app’s core features, directly interact with them and encourage exploration.

This included:

  • A turnable and zoomable AR model on the hero section

  • A video giving a quick visual overview of the App’s features

  • A Carousel of QR codes that users can scan and view in their own space

Design Approach

The website highlights the app’s main actions — Scan, View, Share, and Export — to make its features clear to users at glance.

Future Plans for the Website

Since the app is still new, we aimed to address the basic necessities with a mid-term website first.

However, a long term version of the website is currently in progress, with plans to include additional modules if the app gains traction.
