Vouch
Research – UX/UI – Branding
The Goal
"Vouch" is a social media app designed to help you get quick advice from your friends—all in one place. Not sure what gift to buy for a friend? With Vouch, you can create and share custom polls with anyone or limit them to a selected group of friends.
The Challenge
Deciding which features to include and which to leave out was a long process. The biggest challenge was to identify which features would be overwhelming or unnecessary, especially if they were already covered by existing apps like WhatsApp or Instagram.

The Approach
Interviews & Pain Points
Young women especially often seek a second opinion from their friends when they are uncertain about a decision. Typically, they create a poll in a WhatsApp group chat, but if their friends belong to different groups, they may have to post multiple polls across various chats—making the process tedious.
Competitor Analysis
As a first step, I analyzed and compared apps with similar features.
Instagram polls stood out as the closest match, offering key functions like friend groups and polls. However, polls were just a minor feature and lacked depth. Additionally, there was no option to notify friends when urgent help was needed.
User Personas
Since the app is primarily designed for young women, I created two personas, each highlighting different pain points the app focuses on solving:
Sending push notifications to friends when the user needs urgent help with a decision.
Providing a single platform to bring multiple friend groups together while allowing users to control which friend groups can see/vote on each poll.
User Journey Map
Focusing on the first Persona, Anna, I created a user journey map alongside a scenario, highlighting the key actions
Task Flowchart
Scenario
“Anna is getting ready for her first day at work but can’t decide which shirt to wear. She texts a few friends for advice but doesn’t get an immediate response. As time passes, she starts feeling anxious and second-guesses her choices. Eventually, she picks a shirt on her own but leaves home feeling uncertain.”

Push Notifications
People don’t always respond to WhatsApp polls and messages immediately, but they’re more likely to if they know it’s urgent.
When creating a poll, the user can mark it as urgent by tapping the “Notify friends” button. To prevent misuse, this feature is turned off by default.
Posting Updates
After sharing a poll, the user can post an update to let their friends know what decision they made. The update will be visible to the same friend group as the original poll.
